Home » Building Link » Increase Productivity: Microsoft’s Office Now on iPad

While at University, I never owned a laptop nor desktop, only an iPad. I had to travel to the library to word-process large documents, now if only I could travel back in time with this new feature – Microsoft Office on iPad. With over a billion users worldwide, I’m sure I’m not the only who who shares this sentiment.

Microsoft made sure their unveiling of Office was of merit as they sought to clarify that this isn’t just Office on another platform, well it is, but with added functionality and added sleekness it really is a new experience, “We reimagined Office on the iPad, while retaining what people love about Office.”.

In due time Office will become widely available and published on other popular platforms such as Windows Store and as part of Microsoft’s new “mobile first and cloud first approach” they have made Office Mobile for iPhone and Android phones at no cost.

iPad-Friendly Microsoft Office

With the following link you can download Word, Excel and PowerPoint for iPad.

As you can see above the download includes specifically Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Prepare documents, track different formulas in spreadsheets and design presentations. Although, it should be noted at this point that with the free versions of the apps you can only read documents, view data and display the presentations. If you have retina display on your iPad it’s going to look fantastic as Microsoft have made sure to optimize appearance so the popular program looks fresher than ever.

Office on iPad

Good news if you have an Office 365 Subscription, you will be able to edit and create documents and the content will be synchronized across Office on Mac, PC, tablet and phone. It doesn’t stop there, your subscription allows you to install on up to 5 tablets, 5 PCs and Macs (the whole family!). Admittedly, this is a good deal for prime word-processing software.

Over 3.5 people subscribed to some form of Office 365 for a reason and it just became more portable than ever, so leave those excuses at the door – it’s time to boost that writing productivity.
